Great article Eric… thanks for being willing to post it to the site and give all of us some good ammunition to combat this very strong temptation that Satan regularly tries to get us with. I agree that the “softening and almost acceptance” of this sin over the years has become a destructive weapon in Satan’s arsenal in his attempt to destroy the purity of man.

Way to go Steve ! Seeing you guys at tusculum lanes brings back memories. My first job was at Tusculum lanes and I met my high school sweetheart who later became my wife through a teenage bowling league there (how romantic, right?)

I prefer the term “Motivationally Challenged.”

In all seriousness, I think it is not so much we are lazy as it is not a priority for us. We make time in our schedules to do the things we want to do or feel necessary to do. I guess we don’t feel the same about God’s Word in our lives. This is a sad commentary on us and our society.

While I don’t recite that prayer word for word I do regularly pray for just enough and the wisdom to know what that is. Especially in these financial times.

Great topic Eric. I have rarely been good at this, but have recently tried my best to make journaling a discipline I stick to. At a minimum I have found that carrying a small booket with me to church, lifegroup, etc., serves as a constant reminder that I should be writing down what I hear or thoughts that come to mind. I’ve found too that with setting goals for myself and family, simply writing them down or keeping them in some type of electronic journal does wonders for helping me to stick to the goals and continue working hard to reach them.
